The shared foundation behind Corti Assistant and Corti Assistant MD
Corti Assistant and Corti Assistant MD share a common purpose — empowering healthcare professionals with intelligent, efficient, and secure tools for clinical documentation. Both are AI-driven scribes that assist clinicians by automating note-taking and supporting the creation of accurate medical records during patient interactions.
These tools are designed for qualified healthcare professionals conducting in-person or virtual consultations. Each records the conversation, transcribes it in near real-time through advanced speech-to-text technology, and applies natural language processing to identify clinically relevant information — known as “facts.” From there, both systems generate a preliminary clinical note, which can be tailored to a preferred template. Importantly, this document is intended as an initial draft and is to be reviewed and finalized by the healthcare professional.
Both Corti Assistant and Corti Assistant MD operate on a secure, compliant infrastructure that meets ISO 13485 (standard for a quality management system (QMS) for organizations involved in the medical device industry) and ISO 62304 (standard for software life cycle process). They embody Corti’s dedication to developing AI solutions that enhance clinical efficiency while maintaining data integrity and patient safety.
Where Corti Assistant and Corti Assistant MD differ
While both products share the same foundation, Corti Assistant MD extends its functionality into regulated medical use. It falls within the scope of the Regulation (EU) 2017/745 and the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002 (UK MDR 2002), classifying it as a medical device. This regulatory distinction ensures that Assistant MD meets specific standards for products with a medical purpose.
So which one should I choose?
It is entirely up to your needs. We believe the following can work as guidelines:
Choose Corti Assistant if you are using the Assistant primarily as a documentation aid or productivity tool and do not require it to be a software-as-medical-device (SaMD).
Choose Corti Assistant MD if your organization requires a medical device for tools used in clinical documentation, such as if the documents will be relied on as part of a regulated clinical workflow.
